The Most Profitable Keywords!

Posted by: | Comments (16)

Choosing your Keywords is VERY important.

You don’t want to waste your TIME and MONEY on the WRONG keywords.
I’ve lost thousands of dollars with PPC -Testing and Weeding through the keywords.

Now this works well with PPC (Adwords, MSN, Yahoo), SEO! and CPA as well.

The Most Profitable Keywords are:

{Product Name}
{Product Name Review}
{Product Name Bonus}

Now I’ll explain why!

If you target “camera”, you’ll pay waaaaaay to much in PPC,
and won’t even come close in SEO.

But – lets say – You target “JVC SD 3847 Camera” – bam! This is HIGHLY Targeted

These people NOW WHAT they want.
They are MORE likely to be “buyers” then if they just typed the word “camera”.
You’re basically targeting the people near the end of the buying decision process.

A.) It’s Waaaay Cheaper With Pay-per-click
B.) And to Rank #1 for the term, it just a hell a lot easier!

The whole idea behind landing page quality score is to penalize those who put up crappy landing pages. Google gives them a lower quality score, which in turn raises the cost of their minimum CPC.

More importantly for those of us who are already striving to produce quality sites and landing pages, a better quality score will lead to better rankings for our ads and a lower CPC.

So, how do you get a better landing page quality score?

According to Google, there are 3 things they look at when calculating a landing page’s quality score:  relevant and original content, transparency, and navigability.  Here’s how to get a good quality score from Google and accomplish and get your conversions at the same time:

Relevant and Original Content

For starters, get a domain name that has keywords related to your market in it.  For your landing pages, make sure that each keyword you have, you have a separate landing page.  Make sure they the keyword is in the URL, such as “springgardens.php” if your keyword is “spring gardens”.Your title tag, meta keywords and meta description all must have the page keyword contained within them.

Another thing is to make sure that you have original content written for each of your landing pages. This is vital for any affiliate marketer since they could have hundreds of landing pages promoting the same product.  By differentiating your content from that of the vendor of the product, you’ll increase your quality score over that of your competitors who just recycle the vendor information.

Transparency

For transparency, make sure to link to a valid sitemap, contact us page, and privacy policy page. Google is very impressed by sites openly share information about how your business operates, as well as information about your business to itself.

When requesting information from your site’s visitors, make sure to provide them with the privacy policy so that they understand how they’re information is going to be used.Other good ideas you want to consider are limiting the amount of information that they receive from you and giving them the option to opt out of correspondence. Remember, nobody likes spam. Google likes to see users given the choice of how their information is used.

An obvious aspect of transparency is by delivering on the products and services that you offer in your ad, and to only charge customers for the products and services that they actually order and successfully receive.While this may be implied on your site. You can’t go wrong by also saying it somewhere on the landing page.This will do two things, it will raise your quality score on Google, and also put your users at ease.

Navigability
Google wants to see a clear path to follow on your landing pages, making it easy for users to purchase or receive the product or service you’ve advertised – which is exactly what you want too.Stay clear of using pop unders and pop-ups and other techniques that detract from a good user experience on your landing pages.

With your great landing page finished and a fabulous quality score. You are now able to turn your attention to your Adwords campaign.  By matching the best keywords with your customized landing pages, you can maximize conversions and minimize your CPCs, resulting in a bigger profit margin for you.

When you think of your pay-per-click ads appearing in the search engines such as Google, it is natural to assume that being listed in the top position is the best placement for success. Consider more!

This is one of those areas of life where what would seem to be the best but in reality is not. The reality is that people usually click on the ads in the middle or towards the bottom.

This is great news for you as it means you can save a lot of money on your bids.

You don’t need to be listed first in Google! Usually there is a big gap between the first and second or third position bids for any pay per click ads. This is where you will be saving. Let others pay the top dollar to be listed first…. By stretching you advertising budget this way, you will not only save some cash on your pay per click campaign but you may get more clicks and traffic to your websites by being further down the list of Google ads in the search engines. Go learn!

Use the Google tools in your Adwords account to figure out the top bids for the keywords you are using. The fastest way is to start with a bid of $50 and you will then see the first bid under that which is actually the current highest bid for that keyword. Keep on keying on the next lowest bid to see how much you must bid to be fifth or sixth on the list. Then bid this amount. You will save a ton of money this way.

Another factior that can help you get better results with your Google Adwords campaigns is to study your competition. If you are using ppc to advertise an affiliate program and someone else is doing the same, study their web pages. If the advertisers are running their ad campaigns on a regular basis, this means what they are doing is working profitable…so you should learn more on what they have done.

Do these advertisers send people to a pre-sell page or directly to the page they are advertising? This is where you usually can differentiate the beginners from the pros. Affiliate marketers who stay in the game have learned to use squeeze pages to capture contact information to build the all-important list.

Hardly anyone will buy any product the first time they go to the website. Follow-up is crucial to converting your pay-per-click traffic. If you did not capture email addresses, you cannot follow up with your prospects and convert them to buyers. If you send prospects directly to the product page, you will be losing hundreds of dollars every year. Setting up targeted email campaigns and capturing email addresses is easy and can make the difference between success and failure of your overall business.

Also if this is your first time signing up with a pay per click company like Google Adwords or Yahoo Search Marketing, remember to search for discount coupons for these companies. They usually have a special promotion discount coupon for new advertisers and the bonus can give you additional credit to get traffic to your website. Here’s a working $25 Yahoo Search Marketing Credit.
